AHEC makes it possible to train medical, nursing, dental and other allied health professions students in underserved communities in order to develop relationships and recruit them to future healthcare practice in those communities.
AHEC centers also provide community integration projects.
For information about clinical training opportunities in each region, please contact the regional AHEC CENTER in your area.
During the last state fiscal year, MAHEC supported 2,500 weeks of community-based training for 341 health professions students at 312 health care provider sites throughout Missouri. These students represent 12 health professions schools and nine different disciplines.
