Health Career Exploration for Students

MAHEC youth recruitment efforts are designed to expose students ot the world of health careers.  Consistent with our mission, MAHEC provides:

  • school-based health career presentations
  • community-based activities for students 9-12 and above
  • structured health care professional shadowing
  • career counseling
  • volunteer opportunities
  • academic enrichment
  • health-related exploration activities

All of which nurture early interest by providing intriguing learning activities. Individual counseling is available for high school and undergraduate students interested in a healthcare career.

In addition, more comprehensive one-on-one programming is offered to students actively pursuing a career in primary health care through the statewide ACES Program.
