AHEC makes it possible to train medical, nursing, dental and other health professions students in underserved communities in order to develop relationships and recruit them to future healthcare practice in those communities.
During the last state fiscal year, MAHEC supported 2,503 weeks (689 individual rotations) of community-based training for 341 health professions students at 312 health care provider sites throughout Missouri. These students are enrolled at 12 health professions schools and represent 9 different disciplines of health care personnel.
For information about clinical training opportunities in each region, please contact the regional AHEC Center in your area.
